HISTORY

Swan Valley Cricket Club is a proud club formed in the late 1960’s and has since gone on to some great success in the Swan & Helena Districts and more recently in the Western Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association (WASTCA) in which the club competes to this day.

The success over a lengthy period has resulted in winning 8 A Grade premierships and 5 lower grade premierships. We have developed and produced many players who have played at WACA Pennant and State level in both senior and junior grades. In one of our previous seasons, the Club supported a visiting player from England, Chris Schofield, who has represented England at Test and International Limited Over level.

The club currently fields four senior teams in the WASTCA competition from our highest level 1st grade turf team to One Day grade teams that play on hardwickets. From 2019/20 Season we were delighted to establish our first Women’s team competing in the Perth Scorchers Women’s League. We also have a successful, up and coming junior club that will feed our senior clubs playing stocks for years to come.

We have fantastic facilities at our club located at the Swan Valley Sporting Club including a first rate turf wicket and oval and an astroturf wicketed junior oval. We also utilise Baskerville Oval for many of our home games. Our oversize training nets were renovated in 2015/16 and more recently fully resurfaced in 2020/21 to provide quality training facilities.

We consider ourselves a close-knit club and many of us enjoy our club’s facilities whether celebrating or commiserating the latest games outcome and we also rely on the ongoing hard work of our volunteers like any club does. We also rely on donations and sponsorship from business so please consider discussing options with us.

We care about the welfare of our players and supporters and have adopted both the Good Sports Program (Level 3) and have adopted Cricket Australia's Policies For Safe-Guarding Children & Young People. We are also very lucky to have Sandra Hagerty as our club's Welfare Officer and Child Safety Officer. Sandra can also provide a Chaplaincy service if required.

We welcome players from all ethnic backgrounds and all skill levels so If you love your cricket and are considering joining a team then get in touch as we would be happy to welcome you.
